Sounds excitingly interesting. I’m sorry I’m going to miss it!
Do you know who are Luca Scarantino and S.P. Kumar (India: Vedic conception of Human Body)?

  • krishna Says:

Ciao Elisa, it really sounds excitingly! I was informed via email about this meeting by Ramkrishna Bhattacharya (India: “The Social Outlook of the Charvaka/Lokayata: A Reconstruction”). Unfortunately it was too late to decide to participate (moving from Italy!). Bhattacharya – with whome at the moment I am discussing some Cārvāka perspectives – is the only one I personally know among the participants. In any case I hope that the proceedings will be published soon. I was particularly interested (as you appear to have been) on the conference by S.P. Kumar; indeed recently I have written a (forthcoming) article on the concept of “self” according to Cārvāka philosophy, beginning with those ideas of ātman contained in the Vedas which can be considered materialistic (Bhattacharya is now checking it.)

  • elisa freschi Says:

Well, you are lucky to have him reading your paper! I look forward to read it as well (and to further discuss the relation self/body with you).
